National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

The essential qualification required for all lifeguarding roles in both private and public sector leisure centres. Upon successful completion this qualification is valid for 2 years at any leisure centre in the country. Aqua Vale runs regular courses for anyone over the age of 16.

Course Requirements

  • Age 16+
  • Swim 100 metres front and backcrawl
  • Swim 50 metres in 60 seconds
  • Retrieve an object from a depth of 2 metres
  • Tread water for 2 minutes
  • Climb out the pool unaided
